Telangana Election Results 2018: TRS heads towards Victory with 94 seats

Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) is cruising towards a thumping victory in Telangana. As per the early trends last published at 10:20 am, K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) is

way ahead of the Congress-led Praja Kutami (Grand Alliance) and the AIMIM. TRS is ahead on 91 seats, whereas the Congress and the Other Parties are ahead on 16 and 12 seats respectively.

It seems that KCR’s decision to dissolve the assembly earlier and call for snap polls have bore fruit for his party. The victory will not only consolidate KCR’s position in Telangana but also accelerate the momentum of his party to form an anti-BJP. TRS has also answered his critics who constantly rebuked his administration over various issues such as Illiteracy, unemployment and agrarian crisis.

During the four years of his governance, the KCR administration introduced several policies, out of which implementation of the Rythu Bandhu scheme has been the most significant. The scheme provides Rs 8,000 per acre per farmer as investment support for Rabi and Kharif crops.

Another important scheme launched for the agricultural sector is Mission Kakatiya — to remove silt irrigation tanks with a view to increasing their storage capacity. Various social welfare schemes, including providing free housing, assistance to brides under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubaarak were also implemented.
