Ranchi: RSS worker dies of electrocution while unfurling saffron flag. The Police theory is Right or Wrong ?

Ranchi : The flag hoisting event in Ranchi was planned by Vipul Singh and six other RSS workers, four of whom have suffered burn injuries. A Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh worker was killed and four suffered burns on Tuesday night when an iron pole they had brought to hoist a saffron flag touched a power cable in Ranchi, police said. Vipul Singh and six other RSS workers wanted to plant a saffron flag at the Argora Chowk in the heart of the state capital Ranchi ahead of Ram Navami on March 25, the final day of the Navratra celebrations that begin March 18. They were electrocuted after the iron rod came in contact with a naked high-voltage wire and were rushed to a local hospital where Kumar was declared dead, police said. Three of the men were being treated in the intensive care unit of a private hospital and the fourth was admitted to the burns ward. They were all out of danger. Navratras are an auspicious nine-day period during which Hindus fast and perform special pujas. March 18 will also be the first day of the Vikram Samvat 2074, the Hindu new year.

CoA asks ACU to investigate fixing charges against Mohammed Shami. What do you say Will Shammi fix Matches ?

MUMBAI: Indian pacer Mohammed Shami’s troubles are mounting by the day. It was reported by TOI on Wednesday that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had asked its Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) to “look into the Shami issue” after his wifeHasin Jahan had levelled match fixing allegations against him.

Mumbai : On Wednesday morning, the Supreme Court-run Committee of Administrators (CoA) head Vinod Rai wrote an e-mail to ACU head Neeraj Kumar, asking him to investigate these charges and submit a report within a week. The mail has also been marked to all the office-bearers of the BCCI and CEO, Rahul Johri.

“This has reference to the various media reports pertaining to allegations against Shami. The CoA has listened to the audio recording of a telephonic conversation which it is claimed is between Shami and his wife. The said audio recording is available in public domain. The CoA is concerned only with such portion of the said audio recording in which the person who it is claimed is Shami is heard saying another person by the name of “Mohammed Bhai” had sent money to Shami through a Pakistani lady by the name of “Alisba,” writes Rai.

Jahan has alleged that Shami could be involved in match-fixing as he accepted money from a Pakistani girl named Alisbah in Kolkata after being convinced by one England-based Mohammad Bhai.

Spelling out the areas which Kumar needs to probe in this case, Rai says: “Please investigate the above assertions/ allegations under the BCCI Anti-Corruption Code and submit a report to the CoA with your findings as to whether there is any basis to proceed further in terms thereof.

The investigation should cover (i) the identity and antecedents of “Mohammad Bhai” and “Alisba”; (ii) whether any money was in fact sent by the said Mohammad Bhai through the said Alisba to Shami; and (iii) if yes, the purpose for which the said money was received by Shami.”

As Shami’s contract has been withheld by the BCCI after Jahan’s allegations, Rai then gives a seven-day deadline to Kumar to submit his report on the issue.

Delhi Chief Minister's adviser VK Jain resigns citing personal reasons. Is there any political pressure ?

New Delhi : VK Jain, the adviser to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has resigned citing personal reasons and family commitments, days after he was questioned by police in connection with the alleged assault on Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, sources said on Tuesday. “Jain has resigned from the post of adviser to the Delhi chief minister citing personal reasons and family commitment,” one of the sources told PTI. He has submitted his resignation letter in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) and sent a copy to the lieutenant governor, the source added. He was appointed to the post in September last year, days after he had retired as the CEO of the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB). The board is chaired by Kejriwal. Jain had not been coming to the CMO since the incident and had gone on a week-long medical leave, sources said. Prakash was allegedly assaulted by AAP MLAs during a meeting at the chief minister’s residence on the evening of February 19. Delhi Police had last week told a court that during interrogation, Jain disclosed that AAP MLAs Prakash Jarwal and Amanatullah Khan surrounded the chief secretary and saw them assaulting him at Kejriwal’s residence. However, Jain had earlier said that he did not see anything as he had gone to the washroom at the time of the incident. The alleged assault on Prakash took place in the presence of Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia. In solidarity with Prakash, IAS and Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Services (DCS) officers have not been attending meetings with AAP ministers, and only maintaining written communication with them. The joint forum of the Delhi government employees has demanded action against Kejriwal and Sisodia in connection with the case. PTI
