Not allowed to speak, Deepender skips ride; Does the credit of bringing the metro up to Bahadurgarh goes to MP Deepender Hooda?

Jhajjar :
Congress Member of Parliament (MP) from Rohtak, Deepender Hooda, expressed his resentment at being not given time to address the gathering during the inaugural function of the Mundka-Bahadurgarh metro in Bahadurgarh, thereby making him skip the metro ride.

Interacting with media after the function, Deepender said the extension of the metro up to Bahadurgarh was his dream project and he wanted to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inaugurating it, but the government did not give him time to speak.

“Being an elected public representative of this area in the Lok Sabha, I should have been given time to speak on the occasion, but the intention of the state government got exposed before the function when the district authorities sent me the minute-to-minute programme for the inaugural function as there was no mention of my address,” said Deepender, adding that he also wanted to put forward the demand of the extension of the metro up to Rohtak before the PM.

The MP said the state government failed to keep the decorum by not giving him time to speak, but he had the courtesy by attending the function. “This act of the government has again proved that the BJP wants to get political mileage by inaugurating all those projects which were initiated during the previous Congress regime,” he said.

Supporters stopped outside venue

Deepender Hooda claimed that his supporters were stopped outside the programme venue by the police when they, along with Deepender, reached there in a cavalcade. Though Deepender asked the cops on duty to allow them to attend the function, the latter did not let them go inside. After waiting for some minutes, the MP went inside the programme venue, while his supporters waited for him some distance from the venue. They lifted Deepender on their shoulders when he came out from the programme.
