The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided not to make Raman Singh, who resigned as the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh after BJP’s defeat, the leader of opposition in Chhattisgarh Assembly. As per sources, the party is likely to float three new names for the post of LoP in the Assembly.
In the 90-member Assembly in the state, the Congress won 68 seats while the BJP trailed behind with just 15 seats. The Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (J) won in 5 constituencies, its alliance partner, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) won 2 seats.
